General RV celebrated the grand opening of its Ocala Supercenter on Wednesday, March 20. A ribbon cutting ceremony kicked off the festivities.
Guests included RV manufacturer representatives, RV industry members, and local government officials. The event was open to the public. Many area residents and prospective customers also stopped in. Attendees toured the Supercenter, viewed RVs on display, and enjoyed a catered lunch.
In brief remarks, General RV President Loren Baidas thanked the Ocala Chamber and Economic Partnership for their support. He also thanked several other local partners that helped as the dealership was being built.
Joe Reichel, Director of Business Advocacy for the OCEP, said, “We are very excited about having General RV join our growing community. In the business world, a ‘family owned’ business is something special. It makes the difference.”
General RV has been a family-owned business since the beginning. Abe Baidas founded the company in 1962. Following a family trip out west, he converted a gas station into an RV sales and manufacturing facility.
Today, General RV is proud to call itself the nation’s largest family-owned RV dealer. The company is in its third generation of family ownership and operates 13 Supercenters nationwide. The Ocala Supercenter is the company’s third Florida location.
General RV Ocala is located at 13150 SW 16th Avenue off I-75 in Ocala. The Supercenter offers more than 500 RVs for sale, 38 service bays, and a state-of-the-art painting facility. There is also a large retail store with a wide selection of RV parts and accessories.
