Imagine a Class A Motorhome that is made to fit your travel needs. I’m David Raschke with General RV Center and today we’re going to take a look at the 2017 Hurricane 31S Class A Motorhome by Thor Motor Coach. Let’s check it out!
Beautifully redesigned front cap and grill. Features new headlights with LED accents. Look at this large panoramic one piece windshield and this coach is built on a Ford F-53 Class A chassis that’s powered by a 6.8L Triton V10 gas engine. It also has a 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. Easy access compartment to check all those fluids.
The Hurricane features heated remote mirrors with integrated side view cameras. This is a “Bird’s Eye View” safety and as you can see it’s frameless – just like all the rest of the other windows on this coach. This is Thor Motor Coach’s HD MAXX gel coated, slick fiberglass exterior and graphics package. Features a patio light, an 18ft. power awning with LED lighting. Here’s where you’ll find your exterior 32in. LED TV, two marine-grade stereo speakers, ROTOCAST storage compartments. Here’s your quick connect for you exterior barbeque and look at this – this is nice, an exterior kitchen with sink, refrigerator and storage underneath.
Now this is a redesigned, one-piece rear fiberglass cap. It also features an 8,000lb trailer hitch versus your standard 5,000. Large, dark-tinted, frameless window. Rear back-up camera and this is your roof ladder that is going to take you up to do your annual inspections. I’d like to tell you a little bit more about that roof… It’s a crowned, one-piece TPO roof construction. It also have an upgraded 15,000 BTU A/C, a 12-Volt MaxxAir fan with vent cover in the bedroom.
This is your bedroom slide-out. Again, additional storage underneath, 30AMP detachable power cord. You’ll also find your dump valves for your black as well as your grey tanks. With an exterior shower and your city water connection. The Hurricane features rear wheel valve stem extenders. It is so important to maintain proper air pressure in your rear wheels. Now this slide-out is for your living room and dining area. Additional storage underneath. You’ll also find a 4000 Watt Onan generator and your LP tank.
Welcome to the interior! Conveniently located to your left are all your switches just for like your battery disconnect, your awning switch, step switch, light switches, AC outlet and take a look up above. You’ll find your drop down bunk switch. Well the cab area features these extremely comfortable, adjustable swivel and reclining captain’s chair. To my left is your switching for your heated mirrors, your auto-leveling system, fog-lights, generator start. It also has a tilt wheel and cruise control. Look at this over here though, this is your power for your power sun shade. You have your cab lights. You have generator start, the driver’s fan and there’s also a fan available for the passenger as well; and this your monitor that is going to assist you when you’re making a left and right turn – your mirrors come on as well as when you’re backing up. This is what’s called a stow away table and over-there is your work station for your passenger can use a laptop or whatever; it’s a nice little work station. And up above, is your drop-down bunk system with a ladder.
The sofa/dinette slide-out features cabinets up above. You’ll find stereo speakers underneath the cabinets, a sofa-sleeper. This is a dream-dinette booth but look at this – look at this storage drawer underneath. That is extremely convenient. It has LED lighting throughout the entire coach. You have ducted A/C. Look at this, this is an 82in. interior ceiling height and that’s a hard vinyl ceiling with residential vinyl flooring throughout.
The galley features a 32in. LED TV. Up above is your 12-Volt fan with a cover. But look at this, this is Sydney Maple raised panel cabinet doors. This is absolutely beautiful; and this is a pull out counter-top extension. That becomes very, very handy. With plenty of storage up above, storage below, lots of drawer space. Look at this, this an over-sized double basin sink with pull down sprayer. Over here you’ll find your 3-burner stove, oven. But look at the size of this microwave oven, unbelievable! It also has a light and fan. But, look at this, this a beautiful, beautiful backsplash with designer countertops, very, very nice. Over here you’ll find your 6 cu. ft. refrigerator and right next to that is very useful and good sized pantry.
Well here is where you’re going to find your monitoring station. This is where you always check the status of how much fresh water you have onboard, how much water is in the grey tank, black tank and how much power do I still have left in my battery. You’ll also find this is where you push your slide-out, water pump. But, look at this, this is really, really cool. This is what is called Rapid Camp wireless control system. That’s right! You can set up camp quickly at a distance up to 50 ft. That’s right, you can operate your leveling jacks, take your slide-out, you can turn your generator on, open your power awning and turn your lights on and off. That is really cool!
The bathroom features a beautiful vanity, large counter-top area for all your jewelry and your watch. But it also has a stainless steel sink, medicine cabinet up above, a porcelain commode that is flushable with your foot. And look at this shower surround, that is beautiful with a sliding glass door. And here’s the really neat thing, it’s the little things that matter – this is an actual towel rack. That alone is pretty cool!
The bedroom slide-out features this queen sized bed and this is a Denver mattress, extremely comfortable. You also have a padded headboard. Come with this beautiful comforter, pillow shams, cabinets up above, speakers underneath and also it has a Bluetooth stereo system with speakers. Look at this, yet another 32in. LED TV. Over here is a charging station for all your electronics, your light switches as well as your switch for extending that slide-out. The Hurricane has so much to offer.
