After exploring some of the best cuisine in southeast Michigan, General RV’s streaming series “Chef RV” has hit the road and traveled south to the Sunshine State. Host Carlos Parisi is traveling in a Thor Sequence 20K Class B camper van in search of the best seafood on both of Florida’s coasts.
For the first stop, Chef RV meets up with Chef Ronicca Whaley, owner and operator of Shiso Crispy with four locations in South Florida. Chef Ronicca comes from a long lineage of female chef entrepreneurs. Classically trained with three culinary degrees, Chef Ronicca finds comfort in cooking on-the-go. Nearly a decade ago, Chef Ronicca moved to Kuala Lumpur, helping the Prime Minister of Malaysia create a 250-food truck franchise. She brought the experience and knowledge she gained back to Florida, creating her own food truck service, Shiso Crispy in early 2020.
Now, with permanent locations in St. Petersburg, Pinellas Park, Doral and Tampa Bay, Chef Ronicca jumps at the chance to take the flavors of Shiso Crispy back on the road.
